BACKGROUND STORY

METAMORPHOSIS is a photography series that started out in 2013, as a personal project during my 2nd year of studies in France.
I was always fascinated by hands, the complex & organic shape of them. Covered in paint, the appearance of hands shift, becoming more abstract. The paint transforms the otherwise matt surface of the skin into a high-gloss reflective surface. The photos were mirrored and blended in a way that they compose, new, abstract Rorschachian forms, that are giving the viewer the freedom to reinterpret.
In essence, the hands go under a change of form and nature, morphing into something more abstract, they elevate themselves from body parts to complex, organic, intertwined shapes that create an invitation to be discovered & elucidated.
The immersive exhibition concept came along a few years later, as a vision started to form about an environment where this series could be experienced.
